What is happening?
Caxton FX has recently launched new Visa Europe, Dollar and Global Traveller prepaid currency cards. During 2012 and 2013, we are converting all our existing Caxton FX MasterCard cards to the new Visa currency cards.
We are notifying all our MasterCard card customers via e-mail of the conversion process in good time to ensure that you can continue to enjoy the many advantages of Caxton FX currency cards uninterrupted.
Will I have to re-apply for my new Visa card?
Yes, but we will make the process simple so that you will be able to request your new Visa card automatically within your card account.
Do I have to convert to a new Visa card or can I get a new MasterCard card(s)?
If you want to continue to benefit from the convenience and great value of Caxton FX’s prepaid currency cards, you’ll need to convert your existing MasterCard card(s) to Visa as we will no longer be issuing new MasterCard cards.
What do I have to do to receive my new Caxton FX Visa card?
We have written to all customers with a MasterCard card that is due to expire. If you want to receive a new Visa card, all you need to do is log in to your Caxton FX card account to request a new Visa card.
I have more than one Caxton FX card – will you convert all of them to new Visa cards?
Yes, we will automatically give you the opportunity to replace all your MasterCard cards with Visa cards at the same time. All you need to do is log in to your existing Caxton FX card account at the appropriate time and select the cards you want.
What are the key benefits of a Caxton FX prepaid currency card from Visa?
The benefits of a Caxton FX prepaid currency card continue to be:
- highly competitive exchange rates
- ‘Chip & PIN’ security
- no transaction fees on the Europe Traveller card and Dollar Traveller card where the purchase transaction currency is the same as the currency held on the card, or on the Global Traveller card where the purchase transaction takes place outside the UK
- PIN replacement instantly over the phone
- unparalleled worldwide acceptance.
What if I don’t want to receive a new Visa card?
If you don’t want to receive a new Visa card, and would like the unused funds on your MasterCard redeemed to your bank account, we will provide you the opportunity to close your MasterCard card. The exchange rate will be the prevailing buy rate which is available by telephone at the time of the refund. Please call our Currency Card Support Team on 0845 222 2639 (or +44 207 201 0526 from outside the UK). Calls cost £0.0336 per minute from a BT landline. The closed selected MasterCard cards will be cancelled immediately and the unused funds returned to you. You will not be charged the usual redemption fee.
When will my current MasterCard card(s) come to an end?
Your MasterCard card(s) will cease to be valid when:
- you activate your new Visa card when you receive it as part of the conversion process; or
- we receive an e-mail, telephone or written instruction from you to cancel your card; or
- your card reaches its expiry date; or
- a period of six months has elapsed since we first advised you of the conversion process to Visa and provided you with the Visa currency card terms and conditions; whichever comes earliest.
