The UK government has given the greenlight for pubs, restaurants, hotels, holiday parks and other attractions to reopen again on the 4th July 2020.
This announcement has sparked optimism in us all for a holiday this summer - even if only UK based (which by the way, can definitely be just as beautiful as travelling abroad).
We’ve been looking at some of the most impressive airbnbs in the UK - here’s our top 5:
Airbnb in Scotland
If you’re bored of your usual holiday set-up and want to experience something completely different, why not switch it up and spend some time in this secluded Airship in the Scottish Highlands?
Transport yourself into a futuristic sci-fi movie by staying in this insulated, iconic aluminum pod. The viewing deck gives you front row seats to the never ending sky that overlooks the Scottish Highlands.
After all this time indoors, there could be no better way to immerse yourself in nature this summer.
Airbnb in Berkshire
It’s not often you hear of people holidaying in a converted church, but if the Church House in Berkshire is anything to go by, it should be added to everybody’s bucket-list.
This Airbnb rental definitely has the ‘wow factor,’ merging both classic architecture with contemporary interior. This Victorian Church was built in 1850, demonstrating its rich history.
It would be a great option if you’re wanting to host up to 15 of your family and friends as a post-lockdown celebration (if regulations allow).
Airbnb in Dorset
If all this pandemic stress has been getting you down and you feel the need to escape for a weekend, you can retreat back to your youth by camping out at this luxurious tree house in the Dorset countryside.
Don’t be fooled by the authentic look of the tree-house, it’s fitted with every amenity you would need to host a romantic getaway this summer, including an outdoor BBQ and fire-pit.
Airbnb in Cambridge
Has lockdown given you cabin fever? Sick of being inside your house? The solution: charter a houseboat for a weekend in Cambridge this summer.
This widebeam houseboat marries a comfortable interior with spectacular views, as it is situated on Cambridge’s historic river.
You’re not just limited to the inside of the boat, as guests also have access to a private garden which has decking plus a table and chairs for al fresco dining or sunbathing.
Airbnb in Scotland
We all want to feel like royalty sometimes - and what better way to convince yourself than to hire your own castle for a week?
With rooms labelled as ‘The Dungeon’ and ‘The Great Hall,’ this 12th century castle is oozing with character and history. It boasts 6 acres of grounds for their guests to explore, including its own woodland walk down to the river Eden, a walled herb garden, an orchard and even a watch tower!
It seems as though the UK is gradually easing itself out of the strict lockdown that we’ve had to endure for the past few months, which means it is the perfect time to start planning your UK staycation this summer.
