Caxton, the leading UK fintech payments company, and Thomas Cook, a new online holiday company, today announced a major partnership to deliver a digital travel money solution for customers.

The partnership will see Caxton provide digital payment services to Thomas Cook and its customers, taking advantage of Caxton’s API-driven payments platform to deliver the travel company’s customers with a global travel money and funds transfer smart card – complete with a free account, no transaction fees, and competitive foreign exchange rates, plus no overseas ATM fees.

The technology is part of Caxton’s ‘embedded finance’ offering for businesses, that provides a suite of payment services from digital multi-currency accounts to payroll. It enables companies to offer payment services such as payment cards to their own customers, as well as utilising the suite for their own supplier and expense payments.

Alana Parsons, COO of Caxton, commented:

“We are delighted to be partnering with Thomas Cook, as they continue to navigate their travel journey following a relaunch. The nature of the current market calls for cashless spending options, driving our industry to innovate digitally.

And that’s where Caxton enters. Throughout our 20-year history, we’ve developed tech-driven payments products alongside a strong reputation for excellence in service. Together with Thomas Cook, we look forward to providing travellers with a safe and secure smart card that they can rely on to make their long-awaited holidays memorable, as travel restrictions and measures continue to ease globally and a new ‘normal’ emerges.”
